Craig Sost
Visual Effects Producer
Sony Pictures Imageworks

Craig Sost joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in April 2002 and became part of the team initially assembled to begin early testing on "The Polar Express." As visual effects producer on what turned into an all-CG feature, Craig worked with director Robert Zemeckis and senior visual effects supervisors Ken Ralston and Jerome Chen, helping Imageworks bring the beloved tale of a boy who realizes every child's dream of traveling to the North Pole and meeting Santa Claus to the big screen.

Before joining Imageworks, Craig worked at Disney Feature Animation. As manager of digital production on "The Emperor's New Groove" and "Treasure Planet," he was responsible for the CG production on both shows which combined a hybrid of traditional animation with computer generated environments, props and character and effects animation.
Prior to his work at Disney, he spent time at Digital Domain in the New Media division producing web sites and video games. He then became manager of the Character Animation group, overseeing the animators, modelers and character set-up artists that worked on such projects as "The Fifth Element," "Dante's Peak" and the Academy Award ®-winning "Titanic."

Craig worked his was up through the visual effects industry to Imageworks from a humble beginning as a production assistant at Baer Animation, a company that specialized in classical animation combined with live action. He moved through the ranks of production starting as production assistant, then coordinator, then production manager and finally as a producer. Incidentally, before his time at the studio, Baer served as the LA unit on Zemeckis's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and was responsible for the Toontown sequence and Benny the Cab animation. It was also at Baer that Craig had his first experience working with Disney Feature Animation as a production manager, handling a few key shots for "The Lion King." After Baer, Craig moved on to RGA/LA as a producer, working on projects including main title designs for "Crimson Tide" as well as motion capture and visual effects for "Mortal Kombat."

Craig graduated from University of Delaware and Sonoma State University with a degree in Psychology.
