Lydia Bottegoni
Co-Producer
Sony Pictures Imageworks

Lydia Bottegoni brings a wealth of wide-ranging experience to her position as co-producer of Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs, the third feature film from Sony Pictures Animation. She most recently served as co-producer on the division’s critically acclaimed film Surf's Up, Academy Award® nominee for Best Animated Feature, winner of two Annie Awards and nominated for a total of ten Annie Awards and four VES Awards.

Her most recent achievement was senior visual effects producer on the Academy Award®-winning blockbuster Spider-Man 2®, the same position she held on the Academy Award®-nominated international hit Spider-Man®. In doing so, she rejoined director Sam Raimi, visual effects designer John Dykstra and Imageworks visual effects supervisor Scott Stokdyk to bring the superhero’s exciting and new adventures to the screen.
Bottegoni’s career in the motion picture industry began in 1994 when she took a chance and accepted an entry-level position at Buena Vista Visual Effects. Though starting as a technical assistant, her experience in managing people and resources helped her quickly leapfrog up the visual effects ladder to production manager. She went on to earn credits on Stephen King’s The Mangler, Junior, Love Affair, The Puppet Masters, The Santa Clause, The Jungle Book, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Mortal Combat, James And The Giant Peach and The Phantom.

Bottegoni soon established an industry-wide reputation for meticulous planning and careful budgeting which led to her hiring by Imageworks in 1996 as a senior digital production manager. Bottegoni oversaw the production of visual effects on such films as Michael, Ghost And The Darkness, Contact and Starship Troopers. She was then promoted to visual effects producer, where her credits included The Postman, Sphere, Snow Falling On Cedars and the groundbreaking, Academy Award®-nominated Stuart Little.

In January 2000 Bottegoni briefly returned to Walt Disney Studios, lured by the chance to serve as production manager for a computer animated feature film. When the film failed to be greenlit, she rejoined Imageworks to become senior visual effects producer on Columbia Pictures’ worldwide hit Spider-Man®.

Bottegoni is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, and holds a degree in Economics.
