In Zathura two young brothers are drawn into an intergalactic adventure when their house is magically hurtled into space. The visual effects team at Imageworks, led by visual effects supervisor Pete Travers ( The Aviator, The Matrix Reloaded), was tasked with creating a fun, yet photo-realistic version of a 1950s era science fiction film that includes a gravity pulling planet, a robot gone haywire, Zorgon attack ships, a black hole and a dazzling recreation of the planet Saturn and its rings.
